My only complaint is, for an extra GB of RAM it costs $35 extra. You could just up the plan for cheaper than that, I would suggest lowering it to like $15 extra.
Ok, I plan on purchasing a plan, But I don't know which one.
Once I advertise my server, when it's complete , It'll gain over 400 -2k Players easily, Thing is, what plan should I get to NOT make it lag up a storm. >.>
(Reason why so many players, Is because I have E-fame on youtube..) 17k subs
If your going to have that many players your gonna want the Ultimate plan.
i'd say get the biggest plan u can
cuz the 3gb, can hold about 200-250 max on a stable server (REAL PLAYERS)
nice
Crap, Time to fork out a whole paycheck
how long does it take for the VPS info to be sent to you after purchase?
how many players would the $35 one hold on a delta that's based in fally? i'm liking this vps providers feedback but vpsland has cheaper prices. If the $35 holds atleast 35-75, i'm in.
Ok, so a few things I am trying to figure out. The number you posted on your site (1-888-884-9VPS) in multiple places is not really your number. In fact, when you call it, you get the National Debt Relief Program.
Here is a reverse look-up of it: http://www.customtollfree.com/toll-f...kup/8888849877
Secondly, how the hell are you affording bandwidth. I used to have some machines at InterServer (OpticVPS's Datacenter) and their prices are outrageous.
Here are their dedicated servers: https://interserver.net/custom-manag...d-servers.html
Lets say you have one of their dedicated servers. Defacto, they come with 2000GB BW per month. Using Google Calculator, you can pretty easily calculate out your monthly bandwidth limit.
Yup, that's a 6.2Mbps pipe.. Not the 100Mbit that you are claiming. Sure you can use up to 100Mbps, but if you do over 6.2Mbps constantly, have fun with the overage fees.Originally Posted by Google Calculator
Ok, lets look at it if you were to be colocating your servers (I hope this is the case, considering you are a hosting company).
Here are the colocation plans: https://interserver.net/secaucus-new...olocation.html
So, once again, considering you are a hosting company, I would hope you would at least start off with 1/4 of a rack. Especially because you have 3 servers plus all of your SHINY NEW DDOS PROOF SWITCHES. [/sarcasm] So, starting off with a full rack, that's going to be $450/mo. Now, lets say you have a dedicated 100Mbit pipe to your rack. Between 51 and 100Mbit, InterServer charges $25 per Mbit per Month. Based on that, your monthly bandwidth bill is going to be roughly $2,500.
In total, you are going to be spending about $3,000 every month.
But wait a minute, you actually said that you have 1Gbit lines running to each of your nodes.
So for 1 shared 1Gbit line between all 3 nodes, that is going to be $25,000 a month. For 1Gbit dedicated to each node, that is going to be $75,000 per month.
(Ok, I could have taken this one way out of proportion and said you claimed a 1GB/s pipe to each node (technically you did), I'm not even going to get into the pricing on that.)
Another thing I am wondering is how you are going to manage dodging DMCA. If InterServer gets sent a DMCA, they will probably end up terminating your service.
The last thing I would like to bring up... I know one of your big things is not overselling. This is a legitimate claim. The reason I know this is because you cannot oversell memory in HyperV. Here's a quote from Wikipedia:
The problem with this though is this. The hardware node is going to need at least 1GB RAM to function due to the nature of Windows Server 2008. This will really limit your ability to move around a lot.Originally Posted by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyper-V#cite_ref-18
Plus if your node specifications in the original post are truly correct. I want to know who put what kind of venture capital into this company.
So, I don't know if it is just me, but I see an uh... clusterfuck of false claims and oddities that do not quite line up enough for me to trust you guys completely. Maybe if you where a bit more specific about the type of bandwidth you get from your provider, it wouldn't look so strange.
Edit 1: Why are you using the logo of a Virtualization Company that you do not even use on your website?
