    Right so i have a line graph, i have picked 2 points

    Point 1 (1, 40)
    Point 2 (8, 200)

    The C = 20 (intercepts at 20)

    M = (200 - 40) / (8 - 1)
    M = 160/7 = 22.8 = 23 rounded up

    Right so M = 23 x ALONG + 20 ?

    When i do

    M = 23 x (8 point i picked) + 20 i get 204

    Could someone help me please !
    Maths is fucked up lol

    if you want to work out the gradient use y1-y2/x1-x2
    thats when you got two points which you do so do something like
    200-40/8-1

    whats wrong with that lol

    I can't see the image very clearly but ensure the two points are on the line, I'm not sure but I believe that 8, 200 isn't on the line, oh and also we don't round the value for gradient (m), leave it as it is in fraction form (unless you were instructed to do otherwise)

    Yea it's 100% on 8, 200
    don't know if this is clearer:

    Yes that's clearer if you've insured that the points are on the line and formula is correct just use the exact value of the gradient and fine the value of C using the formula and then check, rather than using the value of C from graph (it can vary slightly) using 22.8 I was getting 202

    But it shouldn't do that, If you find the steepness (M) and do
    M x (along) + C (intercepts)

    Then you can use any of your points and get the answer
    I tried to specifically do 22.85714285714286 (which is the gradient not rounded) x 8 + 20 and got 202.857142

    Use Y - mx = C for the value of C, then use that value of C for various points on the line to check, as I said above sometimes estimating C from the graph differs from finding the actual value in calculations

    Without rounding you get 202.4. It's close enough. Seriously. There's always room for error/approximation. Especially when you're roughly picking points that look like they're on the grid lines.
