VPS Suitable for me? - 07-01-2011, 05:00 PM

I'm making a 317 spawn server. I want atleast less then 30 people on at a time. I also need a cheap and good vps that'll hold that amount.

Hit me up for any hosting deals.

Those are awful. Use burst.net, or nlvl.net.

Agreed, not that I agree with these either because 30-people only with my computer would be A. O. K to run on.

But, I rather see you use one of the quoted above. Then the first one.

InterServer - Quality Web Hosting at Affordable Rates - Your New Jersey Provider

Need support? They answer tickets within the hour usually. The VPS I am using is a Debian distribution of linux, and costs $18 a month. It comes with 72GB of disk space and 6GB ram.

512mb ram should be fine, unless your server is a clusterfuck.

But you must take more than just the server into consideration. Yes, the average server is <512mb, but what about standard VPS processes. If you have a VPS with 512MB of ram, then you will have just enough for your server. Essential processes take up some, so you might find yourself coming in short. If you don't want to deal with any SHELL code, then you have to buy a VPS hosted on a Windows server, and being Windows, it will use a lot of RAM for processes you don't even want. I think you should get a VPS with at least 5GB disk space (in case your server gets huge) and probably >2GB of ram.

The fuck are you on about 2 gigs of ram.......

Ubuntu clean runs around 100mb of ram, if even that. MySQL's like 17mb... You're fine with 512mb of ram.

Fucking XP runs fine with 384mb of RAM.
