Sorry if this is in the wrong place but i love doing art (pencil and paper)
I was wondering if you artists out there that use graphics tablets could tell me if it's a lot different than using pen and paper and if you actually recommend that i should get one hence the fact i love drawing
if so: What graphics tablet should i buy (best budget) for beginners
Thanks.
Should help you a bit.
I have a graphics tablet and I rarely use it. Maybe it's because I'm used to using the mouse, but I can't control the tablet as well as my mouse. I've found that even if you get used to a tablet, it's nothing like actually drawing with pencil and paper. It's more like drawing with a pencil on a marker board.
Graphics tablets work for a lot of people, but I am not one of them.
I hope this helps!
P.S.
I use a Wacom pen + touch tablet. I got it on sale for about $80 and it is a very good buy.
You will have to get used to a graphics tablet since it's nowhere near the feeling of pen and paper. If you want to do just sketching you could choose to scan sketches made with pen and paper or use those pens that turn your drawings into images right away.
If you also want to do digital painting you will need a graphics tablet. Start off with a cheap one to see learn and see if you like it. If you develop some skill move on to one with a bit more pressure levels and larger surface.
I know I'm a bit late to the party but thought I would comment just incase you still need some insight. So, if you just wanna test it out, a great little $30-$50 tablet (depending on shipping) is a Trust Flex Design tablet. It's really good for the price and the pen is better than any of the $400 tablets I've used. So if you're really thinking about it, and can spare $50, you should pick one up.
