So basically I'm trying to fill in current parts of my side icons with purple so I can place them in the cache and they don't have the white around the icons. When I go to place them inside Photoshop CC (Creative Cloud) what happens is I select the pixels around the icon and I go to fill it in with purple and it fills in, but with a weird faded shade of the purple goes around the selected area. I don't know what's going on, I was hoping is was as simple as going into "Select" and then over to "Inverse" and it would put it all back in, but all it did was make the marquee tool select everything around the first selected area so long story short I need help fixing it. I'll place down a picture of you don't understand what I mean.

Of course this isn't a side icon, but just an example of what it's doing. The solid white area is the selected area and the shaded part is the part that gets filled in with a more faded shade of the color. If anyone can help me I will give much Thanks & Rep.

Is your canvas on RGB colour or grayscale?

Isn't that something that it always does?

It's not noticeable when you full screen, but it is zooming in. Try zooming in a lot and typing in a letter. It literally will just look like a blob.

Not sure if you're using a solid color behind the purple, but if you are, just use the pencil tool over the shaded area if you don't want it there.

It's not normal to me to have this happen. I've never had it happen to me anyways. I don't want to go through all that pencil stuff when I can just revert it to normal.

If so, then yea it's always on RGB. Grayscale does the same thing anyways.

Then you might have messed a setting up, try reinstalling photoshop?
