Im studying for a masters in CS and AI in university, and yes I agree with you.

Not sure if this is the correct section but...
Hello,
I'm just wondering if it would be correct to call the algorithms associated with artificial intelligence and machine learning a relevant issue that needs to be advanced/improved upon with new ideas?
If not, what other topics would fit that description?
Thanks
Which university are you at? The reason for this thread is because I'm currently writing my personal statement so if you could share your opinion of your course that would be great
Anyway, yes as no AI has currently passed the Turing test there's obviously a problem with the algorithms being used then, but why in your opinion has AI not progressed to that standard yet? Lack of processing power? Something else?
Loughborough. It depends which part of AI you are taking about, a lot of AI applications have sort of lost the name and become normal applications. For some stupid reason, the more common a application gets the less AI it is by definition. But we are fast approaching some real neat stuff. I am looking forward to my 3rd year because that is the year that we get dropped in the deep end!
What exactly do you mean by "new Ideas"? Technology, including AI (computers, robots) gets improved everyday, if that answers your question. And in the time of 100 years, I think humans have come pretty far, as man has created a fully functioning robot: Asumo < And thats not the only fully functioning robot, just a really popular one made from Japan.
