Found this interresting to share
"The presence of syntax highlighting significantly reduces context switches. We hypothesise that syntax highlighting improves the ability of the programmer to mentally retain the state of the execution, and that highlighted code incurs a lower mental comprehension overhead. In some cases, the eye-tracking data suggested that the participants were able to ignore highlighted keywords entirely, as though perceiving them peripherally was enough to incorporate their se-mantics into the computation."

A better title would be "Use syntax highlighting" since this barely has anything to do with MS notepad specifically
I put that as title because a big number of people (mostly beginners) on rune-server use MS Notepad for programming and any other editor/IDE has it turned on by default (in most cases I have experienced atleast).
I wasnt aware you can enable syntax highlighting on MS notepad apparently?
Never thought of this, but thanks even though im not using ms notepad
the graphs should really have had the exact same code on them if a proper test was being done...
I don't think a study was even needed to find that writing code without syntax highlighting is more prone to errors and annoying af.
also this isnt helpful because probs 90% of people that visit this section are people who have enough sense to use syntax highlighting.
