It would seem that packing a few models using Tom's cache editor or a similar editor would be far more efficient than using Galkon's index repacking methods. Are there any significant downfalls to adding models to a cache using an editor, or would adding models using the aforementioned methods be recommended?

Galkon's Index Repacking involves using a cache suite/editor...

Index repacking is a far more efficient solution to adding new content to the client via the cache. I don't understand why you think it's a bad method of doing so. If you only want to pack a few select items, then do exactly that; you're not forced to pack every single model. You can choose how many models you want in each index.

Thanks for the input. Galkon's repacking methods thread -http://www.rune-server.org/runescape...repacking.html doesn't mention the use of an external cache suite. What were you referring to?

    Thanks!

Well if you're going to actually use and call the methods rather than just have them sit around and collect dust, it would be a good idea to use a cache suite, especially if you want to successfully pack the data you're implementing.

Galkon's index repacking methods would be called upon startup, and do not use an external cache suite.

    Regardless, thanks for the reply.

I'm talking about using it to replace required files such as sequence.dat when adding animations.
