I know that this probably looks like a client project, but I'm working on the server just as much as the client, so leave this thread in the server section and stop moving it. This will be a server hosted for others to play
Welcome to Apocalyptism FPS
I started this project on the 19th February 2010, which is my birthday .
I am doing this entirely because I find it fun to hack up the Runescape client and change everything around.
The point of this project is merely to see what the Runescape engine is actually capable of, and what can be done with it.
I have full belief in myself that I will complete this project. I am a very dedicated person and rarely abandon things. If you look at any previous project I have had on rune-server, it has ALWAYS made it to the advertise section.
When this is finished, I don't really expect many rsps players to play it, but im sure that there will be a huge amount of gamers out there who would love to play it right from their browser.
Why don't I just make my own first person shooter from scratch?
Even if I had the knowledge to write my own 3d software engine/game/server from scratch, I certainly wouldn't have the time to do it, and it would never be as decent as Jagex's game engine.
One day I will definitely create my own game from scratch. But for now I am only a 15 year old with still a lot to learn.

Feedback Please
Would this have a positive or negative effect on gameplay?

Server-sided bullet detection
Apocalyptism features a 100% server-sided bullet detection system. The only input which is received from the client is the camera position, the server will then use this information to calculate whether a shot was valid or not. This will not prevent aimbots, however it will prevent hackers from sending fake shooting packets to kill everyone.

Cache and file sizes
I want this to be browser based, so file sizes will be kept to a minimum.
The Runescape cache will be removed and replaced with a custom one, this will be a pretty small file size since all I really need it to store is:
-Maybe 5-6 maps
-Custom models
-Couple of textures+sounds+sprites+animations+interfaces
-Some object configs
-Some weapon configs
