Introduction
- Hello and welcome to the official Artemis project thread. Myself, lare96, and Logic have been working on a heavily modified Project Insanity based server for awhile now that we plan on hosting in the coming months. This server emulates the #317 runescape protocol and loads #474 data.
The Plan
- Over the past two weeks or so, we've been working nonstop to try and create a near-perfect game that we think almost every one of you guys would enjoy. After doing much research, we've decided that this would be the best revision (474) but with a twist to it. Since the server will consist mostly of pvp, we've decided to introduce PvP Armour (Statius, Vesta, Morrigans, and Zuriel) and Ancient Statuettes. With that being said, we'll be implementing an EP system to receive PvP Armour and Ancient Statuettes. The economy will also play a big part so skilling will be nothing less than perfect. Minigames will of course fall in part with PvP/PvM since a lot consist of either killing players or monsters. Another big feature we want to introduce is Bosses. We will have most Bosses that were in the 474 revision (Godwars, Giant Mole, Kalphite Queen, King Black Dragon, etc) with correct drop tables.
- I also have over 1500$ invested in this project and have spent a lot of time planning out the server to make it as enjoyable as possible for you guys.
- After we have that done we plan on moving on to more complex and unique content which can be anything you guys desire. We love to hear from you! So post below or send any of us a private message if you have any constructive comments, suggestions, questions, or even if you just want to wish us good luck!

Spoiler for Media:
Server features
Nothing too special or unique yet, I was doing a lot of back end stuff for the first week and a half-ish and I've just started tackling generic content. The amount of things you can do when you know how the protocol works is awesome, so plan on seeing lots of custom content in the coming months (once we get the generic stuff done of course). If you have any cool suggestions on custom content you'd like to see you can send me or anyone else on the team a visitor or private message!
Back end
- Total cleanup and re-haul of the networking/game logic engine
- Removed a lot of code that could have caused potential concurrency issues
- Thread safe concurrent ('multithreaded') player updating
- Wrote a new simple and flexible cycle based task system from scratch (not the one I released)
Front end
- Skills
I'm going at a rate of about 4/5 skills per week so this should be done in no time.
Agility
Cooking
Crafting
Farming
Firemaking
Fishing
Fletching
Herblore
Mining
Prayer
Runecrafting
Slayer
Smithing
Thieving
Woodcutting
- Minigames
Haven't worked too too much on minigames just yet, trying to get the skills done and out of the way first.
Jad

Castle Wars
... More will be added later.
- Quests
Not sure if we're going to be doing quests, or what quests we're going to do yet. It all depends on what you guys want.
- Miscellaneous

Spoiler for Media:
I would like to thank Logic and Lare96 for making this project possible. I wouldn't have been where I am with the project now if it wasn't for them. I would also like to give thanks for anyone and everyone who have contributed to this project.
If you would like to show some support, please spread the word about Artemis. Post in your signature if you support!
Thanks!
Goodluck fellas
Ahhh!! It's a dream come true!
I wish you'll the best of luck! Three of my most favorite developers in one project; I really would like this to succeed. Since this will be old school based I would really like to see the combat, and skilling near perfected. Item additions like the slayer helmet would be amazing, and please could we get a decent economy. I'm not talking about those servers who claim to be economy based but have dragon armor stocked in shops, begin with millions of coins and ridiculous stock amounts in "buyable" skills. Make it where the players effect how the economy is shaped, meaning rune armor and equipment are received as drops or skilled for; The little things count as well. I'd really like to see a home that is unique, like Entrana, that is also not to large in size, but can be shaped into a custom map. I could go on, but I'm sure you guys already have a feel for what you want to do.
Good luck Ed.
