Hi there, I was wondering if developing a RSPS can expand my knowledge about the Internet and Networking. I want to become a system administrator one day and I'm trying to prep my self. So, can rsps help me? Is it Sql that relates to rsps? Is there any network coding inside a source or client? Is there such thing as Java Networking? I'm not sure but I would love some Help!

Thanks for reading. Will rep + karma!

I'd recommend another language other than Java. I would also recommend to complete tasks, create code which a systems administrator would actually use. Try playing around with networking, packets and encryption in C#.
C# is where I would start considering it's closer to an industry standard than Java is for networking.

    No problems
As a first task, try making a chat program which uses a database to store the data or something similar. It would really be more worthwhile and it's something you can actually put on your CV.

RSPS would help more with the scripting/dev-ops side of system administration, and slightly less with the network side of things. With that said, you will still pick up some things, but you won't learn the OSI model, etc.

Not too sure about that, it's at 0 . It would have to go minus to even be remotely close to his IQ.
