I just wanted to know if judging by this little bit of film if I would have a shot at playing junior/university ball. I'm 17 years old at 6'3" 330 lbs playing center/right guard (just right guard this game.) and I've played everywhere on the line even on defence. I'm versatile lol. These are some clips i threw together quickly to get some coaching points and stuff from someone who is hopefully a college lineman lol. (If you're wondering why they're lined up 1 yard off the line of scrimmage, I'm Canadian and that's CFL rules. Anyways, football in Canada is smaller and what not and it's different than USA ball, we don't have Div 1, div 2, etc. we just have university which is Canadian Intercollegiate Football League CIFL and Canadian Junior Football League CJFL.)
idk if you can read or not but he wasn't asking about possible injuries
and ya theres a risk of injuries in most sports, he played hs football so he already knows
You don't seem to be aware of the severity of these injuries. He's asking if he should play higher level football (university level). People get fucked up playing high level football, he shouldn't play if he doesn't want to take the risk. Considering his position I have no doubt he'd come out with injuries after 4 years of university football, or however long it is.

Well the average concussion isn't as severe as you think. The amount of severe brain damage in the NFL is actually very small especially for someone who plays his position. Centers/O-lineman are the least likely players to get any injuries, especially a concussion. Also take into consideration that this guy weighs over 300 lbs, I highly doubt that he'll get any football related injuries his entire life.

It isn't usually just a single concussion that causes the long term brain damage. And it's true his position is not nearly as dangerous as some of the others but it by no means makes him/anyone else safe.
At 6"3 and 330 lbs he would definitely have some football related injuries, maybe not brain trauma.

Of course one concussion won't be much of a problem, I've had two this past year and I'm doing fine. The main reason players are getting severe brain damage is because those concussions haven't been treated properly(ex. playing a game with a concussion), now with the extra awareness on brain damage, the chances of this happening has been decreased by a lot.
Excuse me if i said it wrong the first time but someone his size should rarely be geting any serious injuries since the defensive Line tends to be smaller and weaker than the offensive line.

In my 3 years of ball I played both ways and I've never had a concussion problem, but it's bound to happen. Most offensive linemen use their head to block on run plays. I've had my brain shook up a little bit, but nothing serious.
