    The Dharok server is powered by the Apollo Framework
    We're also working with the MITB Packaged 317 deob for our client
    We wrote our combat system based on Jake_'s combat formula reference


    R-S Admin Response  About the Server
    Dharok will be an all around server with quality PvM and PvP combat.
    We plan to include some of our own custom ideas to the game, so it will not purely be an emulator.
    Development is in too early of a stage to present any truly unique content, but there may be some engine work that some of you might appreciate

    At the moment we're using the 317 protocol and loading 498 item and NPC data.

    Our script/plugin editor. A simple tool we made to create/edit/disable plugins at ease without the need to manage the XML config files, etc.
    This editor can also be opened with the server runtime and reload all of the plugins with a simple hotkey, allowing psuedo dynamic development.




    A quick look at our dialogue system. Majority of our content will be scripted with Apollo's JRuby plugin system.
    We want our content developers to have an easy experience, while still giving them the room for as much customization and creativity as possible.


    Our combat system is one thing that we're trying to directly emulate from the original game.

    At the moment it's nearly complete, and even incorporates "clipped" path finding.
    Players by default use the BFS algorithm, while NPCs use a customizable dumb path finding algorithm.
    This way we have control over how intelligent one NPC's path finding may be compared to another.

    All special attacks are scriptable, which is pretty cool.


    The combat formula accounts for everything it is supposed to, including your weapon stance

    what advantages does your plugin jframe bring over using an eclipse ruby plugin? i've been thinking about writing something similar for my own project.

    Our GUI manages all of the plugin configurations for you. For an example, you can simply right click>add script or right click>delete script, and the plugin.xml contents are automatically adjusted.
    You can also obviously right click>create plugin and the XML configuration file is automatically generated along with the main script.

    It's not a huge feature, but it can be quite convenient at times. There are also a lot of other small features, such as hotkeys to reload the plugins during server runtime so we don't have to keep restarting the server during development.

    In all honesty, the plugin editor was just a fun little side project to create the type of environment that we wanted when writing game content.

    Good luck with this, Apollo will probably be the future of rsps, but only thing i don't like about it is it sounds super easy to use adding/deleting scripts, which could be a sunny day for leechers. Anyways looks unique, i'd like to see more media please.
